Micro-miniature fine wire assemblies
At NEI Systems, partnerships are our specialty. So when a leading manufacturer of industrial air and electric power tools approached us needing micro-miniature cable assemblies for new tools used on automotive and aerospace assembly lines, we got to work. We collaborated with the manufacturer’s engineers and designed a cable assembly with exacting mechanical specifications. We reduced the cable’s diameter with thin-wall Teflon so it was compact enough to fit inside the tools and meet all the necessary electrical requirements. The end result is a high-performance cable assembly.

That’s exactly how we approached developing this custom “nutrunner” assembly for a leading manufacturer of industrial air and electric power tools. As a repeat customer, this company’s lead engineer knew he could get what he needed: a custom cable assembly connecting a gear to a sensor that measures torque stress on the shaft of pneumatic or electric power tools.

As he expected, NEI Systems delivered. The result is a product that works the way it should the first time, complete with our hallmark fast and dependable service.

Contact Bay Associates Wire Technologies/NEI Systems. Ultra-fine gauge, stranded conductor, tinsel conductor, and micro-pitch connectors are at home on our production lines. We possess the required skills and expertise to overmold miniature cable. Building on years of experience, and approaching new challenges with a fresh outlook, the simple, slightly new idea enables the evolution of smaller and smaller, fine-wire, cable assemblies and interconnects. The process solution for one customer’s product is nudged in the direction of additional usefulness for our other products. Modify this stripping machine. Tweak that soldering technique. Replace the air-dry epoxy with an ultraviolet curing system. Add a color-coded jig to eliminate process errors, and so on.

Our dedicated team of production specialists receives ongoing training and certification and works daily with stranded conductor as small as 38 AWG. The pictured assembly (lower left) combines a Winchester Electronics™ connector and 4-conductor cable consisting of: 2 conductors 26 AWG, 2 conductors 36 AWG, insulated with FEP, and jacketed with silicone rubber.
